Why the wakebook?
There are already many tutorials in which the pro riders give you very good and detailed explanations of the individual tricks. But we always lacked an overview – which tricks exist, when can you tackle which trick, what is the name for something. We have collected all the know-how and brought it into a workbook / level structure - not as a measure of your skills, but because you can benefit from it in two ways:
Inspiration
The wakebook can help you get ideas for what trick to try next, perhaps as an alternative to that one boss trick you've been stuck with for months. And maybe you'll come across a super stylish trick (or a new term) in the Wakebook that you want to add to your repertoire - even if you've been riding for a while!
Motivation
The wakebook can motivate you to do tricks and variations that you will actually land first try based on your experience - but simply neglected so far. This consistent work on the basics can be super boring - maybe the wakebook will motivate you to do it and you will definitely benefit from it in the end!
Wakebook - Disclaimer
Linear / consecutive Trick Progression
Individuelle Voraussetzungen & Paradedisziplinen
The trick progression is very individual for everyone, and with different requirements you can progress faster or slower at different points. A gymnast and a skateboarder will both refer to individual wakeboard tricks in the wakebook as being categorized as way too difficult - but just not to the same. No problem: This allows you to become aware of your parade discipline and discover weaknesses.
Switched Variants & Reality
Almost everyone we know neglects the switched variants - this means that categorizing the switched variants in the same level does not necessarily correspond to common practice. Nevertheless, we think it's correct: Actually, you should overcome your weaker self and consistently learn every trick switched, right after you've learned it on the strong side. To open a level for you, you can do the tricks with your strong foot forward first - and if you want to close the level completely, the wakebook motivates you to learn the switched variants as well.
Degree of perfection & individual style
Many tricks are easy to learn but difficult to master. Doing justice to this level of perfection of a trick in a wakebook is very difficult - just like you can't express individual style. Tail presses leaning far back, extreme nose & tailbones when grabbing over the kicker or additional obstacle tabs distinguish the pro from the beginner - but the trick designation in the wake book still remains the same.
Combinations of Single Tricks
Another aspect of personal progress is combinations of individual tricks, which we can only show to a limited extent in the wake book. Especially for pro-riding on the obstacles, it is of course decisive for the level of difficulty which tricks you build into your individual line over the obstacle - and it just makes a better impression if you ride three obstacles in a row with a cool combo and in between Install surface tricks. In the Wakebook, however, we limit ourselves to capturing each individual technique as well as possible - the rest is up to your individual creativity.
Wakeboarding is more than the Standard Tricks
Finally, it should be said that beyond the standard tricks listed here, there are plenty of other ways to have fun on the cable - whether with other equipment (wakeskate, kneeboard, mono and trick skis, DIY constructions...), with one- footed tricks (one foot out of the binding) or various possibilities on the double line (together on the same obstacle including grabbing the board from the other rider, jumping over each other etc) - if the standard tricks are annoying, just do an experimental fun session! There are also many additional elements that we didn't list as a separate trick in the wakebook, such as handplants or approaches / landings in a sideslide / powerslide - that would just be too much. At the end, the individuality of wakeboarding simply cannot completely be expressed in a workbook!
Did you read the whole disclaimer? For real??? Wow. Then get straight to the point, click through the levels - and let us know if you miss any tricks, would have categorized them differently or use a different name for a trick: Just send an email to info@wakeboard-progress.com.

Yoga & Wake Sessions...

Coaching
Voller Fokus auf deinen nächsten Trick!
Trick progression in practice means practice, practice, practice. And maybe you just want someone to help you with advice and motivate you for a specific goal!

We are therefore happy to present our coaching concept to you. We will explain to you why wakeboard coaching is helpful, answer you for whom it makes sense and present our offer in detail.
Warum Wakeboard Coaching
You may be wondering when & why coaching makes sense at all. After all, you get loads of tips for free at every cable - and that's exactly how it should be. Our offering is definitely not about monetizing to share our experience. That's exactly why we build the Wakebook, the Wakemap and the Wakabulary for you, and will continue to provide tips & tricks to anyone who asks.
However, if you are attached to a specific individual goal, our coaching offer offers much more than just tips & tricks:
For a whole session we only take care of you in a 1:1 support. We observe each of your attempts and can therefore make individual suggestions for improvement - and not just recite general tips from video tutorials.
We support you as close as possible - that means (for almost all of your goals) we ride double lines: This way we can demonstrate to you at close range what you should pay attention to - and give you suggestions for improving your attempts on the water. With this we achieve the fastest iteration of feedback and improvement!
Often you have a completely wrong feeling for how you are on the water or in the air - especially when you try completely new tricks. Nothing helps here more than analyzing yourself on video: We make videos riding doubles or from the land - in both cases we show you your attempt immediately afterwards so that you can correct yourself at the next try already.
In many cases it is mainly our head that prevents us from seriously tackling a new trick. We're too lazy (because we'd rather be on the water than in it) or afraid of an "impact".
With a coach by your side, you often have a lot more confidence in yourself than if you had to overcome yourself “on your own” – and for this session you might even make it more of an obligation than usual to really try your trick – no matter how often you got to swim.
Nothing makes you prouder than a session in which you have overcome yourself, tried something new and made personal progress - and rightly so, be proud of yourself!
So it's more than understandable that you want to look at this success for yourself later and share it with others. During coaching you automatically have your personal photographer with you - so that the memories stay alive and serve as motivation for the next sessions & progress!
Does our wakeboard coaching fit to you?
A coaching session is something for everyone who wants to get better - if you want to be accompanied in that progress. There are of course a few restrictions:
...whatever that means exactly. A conscious approach to trick progression is important, especially in the first few years, in order to create a comprehensive basis and a lasting interest in the sport!
And what about "pros"? Of course, it only makes limited sense if we accompany you with tricks that we have not yet mastered ourselves - even if individual advantages of coaching are still given (video analysis, self-motivation).
The best thing to do is to use the wakebook to find out what level you are at and simply talk to us about your individual goals - then we decide together what makes sense!
Age doesn't matter - if you've already done the first few meters on the water, we'll be happy to accompany you further!
We always try to find the best individual approach for you: It doesn’t matter whether you are looking for a patient coach and need consolation when you fail, or you want a challenging drill sergeant who will push you to peak performance.
We adapt to your needs as best we can!
You're making great progress yourself, but want to help someone else overcome a threshold in trick progression?
A voucher for wakeboard coaching is a great gift, whether for a birthday, Christmas, name day, ...
Usually, we do our coaching in 1:1 support in order to offer you the greatest possible benefit. However, if you would prefer to share a coach with a friend, we can also implement this after consultation - provided your individual learning goals can be reconciled.
Our coaching concept makes no sense for larger groups. You still want to have us there for an exclusive cable rental, maybe especially to immortalize the event with photos & videos?
Talk to us and we will work out a suitable offer!
The Details of our Offer
Our standard 1:1 coaching session looks like this:
We have no fixed slots, the appointment for a session in public operation (usually 2 hours) is made individually according to your preferences.
Of course, we are also happy to join your exclusive cable rental.
Regardless of whether you want to focus on a specific trick in the coaching session, want to work through a trick category or want to prove your level with the coach mainly as a photographer: We agree in advance what you want to do so that the mutual expectations are clear.
Our home cables are Wakebeach 257 in Dormagen and Wasserski Langenfeld. Other locations are also possible for a travel surcharge by prior arrangement.
For the coaching you bring your own material or borrow it at the cable.
You ride at your own risk during the entire coaching session – in accordance with the cable operator’s terms of use.
Reimbursement of the ticket for your coach
