The most impressive way to jump a trick on the cable is air tricks - without the help of obstacles, you catapult yourself into the air just using the line tension and the corresponding approach - and fly behind the handle in Superman-like body position. Learning this technique can be painful at times - if you don't release properly when you take off and don't reach enough height, the entire momentum of the line tension will take revenge on you and your board...

In order to try air tricks as smooth as possible, as first trick you might wanna choose a Back Roll - the rotation over the shoulder always keeps your buttocks / back above the water and at the same time allows a closed body position. Nevertheless, you have to build up a lot of tension to have enough time to fully complete the rotation - so this trick is not harmless either! The good thing is: once you have internalized the release, variations with FS180 turns are no problem at all (Roll to Revert). The switched variants can be a bit more difficult, but on the other hand, an approach to the inside is not easy on every cable anyway, so you may even have to learn a switch variant before executing it with your strong foot (SW Back Roll, SW Roll to Revert) .

Once you have internalized the release via the backroll, you can dare to try the Raley - the actual Superman trick, which for many wakeboard beginners is the target trick that they want to be able to stand at some point. With a kicker raley you can get used to the feeling in the air and learn pulling back the board underneath your feet, and with a start raley the pull comes even more suddenly. In the end, however, it is important to really commit to the release when doing it out the water... The same applies here: If the Raley is safe, the FS180 variant is not a big problem (Krypt) - the same issue regarding the approach applies to the switched variants as with the back roll (SW Raley, SW Krypt).
